AVONDALE, Arizona – For the first time since Labor Day weekend, the entire Verizon IndyCar Series field will take to Phoenix International Raceway for a two day open test on February 10-11. After a long off-season and many changes throughout the paddock, the excitement level is high.

Some of the major changes over the off-season include:

  • Chip Ganassi Racing made the switch from Chevy to Honda, despite a freeze on all aero kit development in 2017.
  • Juan Pablo Montoya will not racing full-time in 2017 for Team Penske. Montoya will only be competing in the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500.
  • Former Ed Carpenter Racing driver Josef Newgarden was selected to replace Montoya at Team Penske with Tim Cindric calling race strategy for Newgarden. Previously Cindric called race strategy for Will Power.
  • With Ganassi moving to Honda, AJ Foyt racing moved over to Chevy. Foyt also hired two new drivers, Carlos Munoz and Conor Daly, to replace Takuma Sato and Jack Hawksworth.
  • At this point, KVSH Racing will not be competing in 2017 but hopes to find a new partner to bring the team back onto the track.

Fans are invited to attend a special Prix View event on Saturday, February 11 with free parking & admission. On-track practice will take place from 3-6pm & 8-11pm ET and can be streamed on IndyCar Race Control.
