Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Fast Facts

Race Weekend: Friday, March 13 – Sunday, March 15
Track: Streets of St. Petersburg, FL, a 14-turn, a 1.8-mile temporary street circuit

The 1.8-mile, 14-turn (5 lefts, 9 rights) circuit incorporates streets of downtown St. Petersburg and a section of runway of Albert Whitted Airport. After the long frontstretch, there’s a tight right-hander into Turn 1 and then a quick left-hand turn. Plenty of drivers have gotten into trouble in these two turns over the years. There are two other long straights with heavy braking zones that afford opportunities to overtake.

Race Distance:
100 laps / 180 miles

Push-to-Pass Parameters: 150 seconds of total time with a maximum time of 15 seconds per activation. The push-to-pass is not available on the initial start or any restart unless it occurs in the final two laps or three minutes of a timed race. The feature increases the power of the engine by approximately 60 horsepower for 2020.
Firestone Tire Allotment: Seven sets primary (BLACK), four sets alternate (RED). Teams must use one set of primary and one new set of alternate tires in the race.
